ABOUT ME

What I find most fascinating about words is how they create emotion in those that hear them. The ability to make a reader laugh, cry, or simple crack a smile is a powerful skill to have. I find such joy when I see a reader’s emotional response to my stories. It makes me want to continue writing. My goal is to pursue a career in the entertainment industry as a writer.
Throughout my years at the University of the Incarnate Word, I enhanced my creative writing skills, strengthened my communication skills, and learned to work under pressure. I not only communicate well on paper, but I communicate well in a team. In my 15 years of basketball, I learned communication is the absolute key to success.
I have also worked with digital media. During my internship as a social media intern at the San Antonio River Walk Association, I learned another valuable writing skill. The ability to convey a specific message using a certain amount of characters to entice the audience to attend an event or purchase a product. As a social media intern, my job was to create posts that attracts the audience using words and visuals simultaneously. I also have experience communicating on camera as a reporter during my time with the UIW TV News.
I currently work as a server at Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant. As a server, communication is essential. I learned to how to effectively communicate with the kitchen staff and the customer to ensure the customer’s visit is as perfect as it can be. Words are what bring us as humans together. We share stories, encourage creativity, and show affection and it is all thanks to the words we communicate.
